Jennifer Wier

turning our hearts toward the hope of eternity

Even the Ravens- a poem

Faith, Poetry

Even the Ravens

I have seen the mountains crumble
But I am not afraid
I have set my face like flint
Because what else matters?
To whom would we go?
You alone have the words of everlasting life

You own the cattle on a thousand hills
And even the ravens
Who bring me my daily bread
Bread to share
Because Your sheep need feeding
They are starved for hope
But there is plenty to be found
If you know where to look
It is Your word we hunger for

So I will speak Your words
Strengthen my sisters
Encourage my brothers
As long as it is called Today
We will not be hardened by sin’s deceit

We are Your people, Your dwelling place
Your very own body
And the gates of hell will never overcome us
The enemy may strike, but he will not prevail
It is we who will overcome
By the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony

So we will shout it from the rooftops
That You reign victorious
And You have redeemed us
Because of Your great love
